He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruby Clingingsmith (Hahn) and Lee Clingingsmith; and his siblings, Harold Clingingsmith (Doug) and Sharon Williams (Clingingsmith). He is survived by: his children, Bruce Clingingsmith, Karen Clingingsmith and Laura Lonergan (Steve); his sister Wanda Belton; his grandchildren, Aaron Clingingsmith, Nate and Riley Lonergan; and his nieces, Kim Williams and Victoria Griggs.
