The family announces the passing of Katie Chinonis of Grand Blanc, Michigan on September 23, 2026. Katie, born on July 11, 1927, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Xenophen Karay and Artemis Karay (Kariotoglou); her siblings, Nicholas Karay (Mary), Alex Karay (Luella) and Mary Mouzakis (Jim); and her brothers-in-law, Constantine "Gus" and John.
She is survived by: her son Dennis; her daughter-in-law Dr Debra Chinonis; her daughter Diane (Walter Foraker); her grandchildren, Nancy Chinonis (Jeff Lauster), Elias Chinonis and Richard Chinonis; her brother Andrew Karay (Anne); and her sisters-in-law, Linda Chinonis and Sandi Chinonis. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Swartz Funeral Home (1225 W Hill Rd, Flint, MI 48507). A prayer was held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church (2245 E Baldwin Rd, Grand Blanc Twp, MI 48439).
