She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Shetler and Emma Shetler; her husband Louis J. Carter Jr. (Cy); her brothers, Eddie (Zelma), Chuck (Gracie), Frank (Doris) and Earl (Shirley); her daughter Linda Von Gerkan (Richard); and her great grandchild Kayden Worden.

She is survived by: her sons, Randy Carter (Karen) and Joe Carter (Erin); her grandchildren, Renee Ellis (David), Suzette Carter (Jalyn), Ava Carter, Erin Milner, Ian White, Kaitlin White and Gabriel White; and her great grandchildren, Takao Williamson, Elijah Carter, Adonis Payne, Stephanie Ellis and Megan Ellis. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
