He is survived by: his siblings, Rosanne "Tutti" Thiel (Jerry Coates), John (Robin), Ellen Hartman (Kim), Dale (Kim Marie), Ron (Barbara Burger) of Oak Creek, WI and Janice Massimino (Jack "Butch"); his nephews, Brian (Katrina), Michael (Genevieve), Todd Thiel (Heather), Scott (Erin), Brent, Mark Hartman (Ashley), J. L. (Deborah), Vincent Massimino and Ryan Thiel; and his niece Christa (Bret).
