He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest LaVern Cope and Fern Loretta Cope (Peterson); and his brother Richard Cope (Ruth). He is survived by: his wife Sheryl Davids; his children, Douglas Cope and Laura Cope (Tracy Carlson); his grandchildren, Trevor Cope (Emery Zuc) and Andrianna Cope; and his siblings, Vivian Hersom and Stanley Garton (Joyce). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the Virgil Cope Chemistry Equipment Acquisition and Maintenance Endowment Fund.
