He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Sapienza (Lopiccolo); his wife Mary Margaret Monahan; his grandson Anthony Sapienza; and his siblings, Joseph Sapienza (Kathy) and Sylvia Sapienza.

He is survived by: his father Peter Sapienza; his children, David Sapienza (Berta), Denise Loper (Ken), Stephen Sapienza (Angie Roullier), Karen Elliott (Joseph) and Andrew Sapienza (Mary); his grandchildren, Matthew Loper, Scott Loper, Nick Sapienza (Maggie), Noelle Satterfield (Brandon), Blake Gilbert, Haley Sapienza, Madeline Everett (Gabriel) and Logan Sapienza; his great grandchildren, Monte, Deshawn and Henry; and his brother Salvatore Sapienza (Ida). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
