She was predeceased by: her parents, W. J. "Bud" Karsten and Elizabeth Karsten (Oosse); and her sisters, Judith Buttery and Esther Waid. She is survived by: her children, Janice McDermott (Paul), Peter Tysman (Sara) and David Tysman (Jessica); her grandchildren, Owen, Elliot, Oliver, Emmett, Jonathan, Meredith, Addison, Magdalena and Amelia; her brother Jack Karsten (Joanne); and her brothers-in-law, Andrew Waid (Mary) and Gary Buttery (Mary). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
