She was predeceased by: her parents, Rudolph Khodl and Gladys Khodl (Smead); her husband Pat; her daughter Debra Smith; her grandsons, Brian and Ryan Zinger; and her brothers, Bob and Bill Khodl.

She is survived by: her children, Lisa Gullick of Grand Rapids, Kathleen Zinger (Paul) of Muskegon, Tom McCarthy (Pamela) of Grand Haven, Kenneth McCarthy (Caroline) of Lowell, MI and Tim McCarthy of Alaska; and her siblings, Doris Sutherland, Ruth Mitchell, Carol Sinclair (Leon), Ken, Jim (Barb) and Bernie Khodl (Mary). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.
