He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Michael Jesse; his wife Sophie Pelt; his children, Margaret "Peggy" Whitford (Kevin) and Matthew Pelt (Teresa); his grandchildren, Christopher Whitford (Jennifer), Elizabeth Pelt, Jessica Pelt, Tiffany Pelt (Michael Schotts), Victoria Pelt (John Suttorp) and Crystal Pelt; his great grandchild Trevor Whitford; his sister Ann McGuffin; his sister-in-law Maryann Pelt; his son Steven Pelt; and his siblings, Helen Elder and Richard Pelt. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
