We announce the death of Daniel Andrew Tegels of Grand Ledge, Michigan, who passed away on September 8, 2026, at the age of 89. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Tegels and Catherine "Bessie" Tegels (Hovland); his daughter Michelle Patricia Tegels; and his siblings, Katherine Kucsulain (George), Rita Tegels, Frances Baker (Tony), Vivian Kempf (Norman), Vincent Tegels (Shirley), Dennis Tegels, Lawrence and Loren.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Sue Tegels; his children, Bethany Hannon (Todd) of Grand Ledge, Rebecca Smith (Jeff) of Athens, Laura Tegels of Lansing and Patrick Tegels (Teresa) of Pinckney; and his grandchildren, Nicholas Hannon, Noah Smith and Mary Katherine Tegels. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Saint Michael Catholic Church (345 Edwards St, Grand Ledge, MI 48837). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
