He is survived by: his wife Patricia Teachout; his children, Dawn DeBlaay (Jack), Susan Hunter (Bob), Eric Cooper (Sue) and Jill Malish (Chris); his grandchildren, Joshua (Patricia), Luke (Elizabeth), Quinn (Jon), Gillian (Alex), Sarah and Megan; and his sister Elizabeth Preston. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family is asking that any contributions in memory of Dick be made to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.
