She was predeceased by: her parents, William Starkweather and Mary Lou Shuert; her sister Marsha Bashore; her niece Emily Bashore; and her brother-in-law Rick Kleinfelt.
She is survived by: her sons, Eric Schellhammer (Jamie) and Travis Schellhammer (Abby); her grandchildren, Riley, Britt Schellhammer, Easton, Grayson Schellhammer, Connor Williams and Hannah Platt; her sister Margo Kleinfelt; her stepfather Des Shuert; her aunts, Donna Opie (Joe) and Joyce Ann Shuert; her nieces and nephews, Lee Bashore, Danny Bashore, Patrick Kleinfelt (Sydney) and McCall Salmon (Paul); and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Colt Salmon, Dawson Kleinfelt, Kayla Salmon and Delaney Kleinfelt.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the American Legion (731 N Clinton St, Grand Ledge, MI 48837).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Mary Jo's memory to the Cole-Briggs Post #48, American Legion Auxiliary.
