With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alvin Dykhuizen of Grand Rapids, Michigan, who passed away on April 3, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Dykhuizen and Dora [VanderWest] Dykhuizen; his former wife Doris [Heyboer] Dykhuizen; his siblings, Harold Dykhuizen and Doris VerMerris; and his son-in-law Richard Burke.
He is survived by: his wife Jacquelyn "Jackie" [Stanley-Houtstra] Dykhuizen; his daughters, Ellen Wierenga, Beth Burke and Barbara Dadswell; his stepchildren, Ron Houtstra, Sharon DeWinter (Ron) and Rick Houtstra (Toni); his great grandchildren, Anita (Wierenga), Tyler Buitenwerf (Ian), Amy (Wierenga), Luis Felipe Perez-Costa (Elias), Kim (Burke), Kevin Anderson, Tom, Rebecca Burke, Nick and Zak Dadswell; his stepgrandchildren, Rebecca (Houtstra), Geoff Stein (Braylee), Allison, Jonathan and Amanda Houtstra; and his sisters-in-law, Jo Dykhuizen, Kathleen (Heyboer) and Jerry Brecker. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
