She was predeceased by: her brothers, Sid Miedema (Joanne) and George Miedema; and her brother-in-law Henk Smidstra. She is survived by: her husband Joe Smidstra; her children, Colin Smidstra, Maureen Mingerink (Don) and Kathryn Smidstra; her grandchildren, Justin (Kelly), Zachary, Michael, Carly Smidstra, Tricia, Ethan (Alyssa), Joshua (Abigail) and Andrew Mingerink (Meghan); her great grandchildren, Elijah, Daniel Mingerink, Adriana and Louise Mingerink; her siblings, Andy Miedema (Liz), Ann DeJong (Sid) and Bill Miedema; and her siblings-in-law, John Smidstra (Judy), Ben Smidstra (Letty), Marianne Lazaro and Grace Smidstra. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
