He was predeceased by: his father Henry Lent; his stepmother Shirley Lent; his mother Charlene Main; and his brothers, Theodore Chmurynski, Bruce Persons and Samuel Persons.
He is survived by: his children, Karie Piersma (Robert), Dale Lent Jr., James DeVault (Heather) and Travis Patterson; and his sister Sherry Van Slyke. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
