It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Peter Vander Horn of Grand Rapids, Michigan, who passed away on February 5, 2026, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his son Mike Vander Horn; and his brother Ed Vander Horn. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Vander Horn; his children, Mari Sorokin (Tim), Shari Dykstra (Ron), Vonda Smestad (Jim) and Dan Vander Horn (Angie); his grandchildren, Brandon (Madeline), Amanda (Nate), Jordan, Jacob, Josh, Kyle (Michelle), Britany (Mark), Rachel (Blake), Russ, Mason, Mac, Kenzie, Madi, Ryley and Zach; his great grandchildren, Zander and Maverick; his brothers, Larry and Ken (Helaine); his sister-in-law Kathy; and his friends, Don and Marilynn Prince. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
