She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Peter Takens Sr.; her parents, Anna Berg (Wilkins) and Peter Vander Berg; and her siblings, Eleanor Vander Berg, Elaine McDowell and Leonard Vander Berg.
She is survived by: her siblings, Darlene Bykerk, Coral VanDe Burg, Ruth Zerfas, Raymond Vander Berg (Cheryl) and David Vander Berg (Doris); her sister-in-law Marian Takens; her children, Jeanne Prebble (Kelly), Joyce Lont (Tim), Joseph Takens (LuAnn) and Judy Voss (Jim); and her grandchildren, Brandon Takens (Meghan), Christina Takens, Heidi Steenwyk (Andrew), Tracy Niewiek (Brian), Jimmy Lont, Joe Takens (Amber), Tim Takens (Becky), Bradley Takens (Alicia), Janell Takens, Keith Takens, Erika Voss, Colin Voss and Trent Voss (Alexis).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Sunshine Community Church (3019 Coit Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to the children's activity center Sunshine Community Church.
