He was predeceased by: his parents, David Hoogerhyde and Millie Hoogerhyde; his sister Nancy Hoogerhyde; his stepmother Carol Hoogerhyde; his in-laws, Bud and Arlene Baxter; his brothers-in-law, Skip Baxter and Syd Baxter; and his nephew Tom Radosevich.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Hoogerhyde; his daughters, Julie (Dan Holt) and Kristin (Jason Ruud); his grandchildren, Noah, Sammy, Fletcher Holt, Bennett, Quinn, Graham and Eli Ruud; his sister Mary Kay; his siblings-in-law, Tom Kolaz, Sharon Baxter and Mary Baxter; his stepsiblings, Georgia Jones (Dan), Catherine Stovall (John) and David DeVos (Marcia); his nephew Jeff Baxter (KC); his nieces, Susie VanSkiver (Dan) and Chloé Kolaz (Andrew Marreel); and his friends, Doug and Peggy.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Doug's memory to The YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids.
