We announce the death of Esther Dykstra (Grand Rapids, Michigan), who passed away on September 16, 2026, at the age of 91. Esther will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband Charles Dykstra; her parents, William Boluyt and Anna Boluyt (DeGraaf); her son John Dykstra; and her son-in-law Robert Snyder.
She is survived by: her children, Debora Sweeney (Richard), Charles Dykstra (Terri), Barb Snyder, William Dykstra and Timothy Dykstra; her grandchildren, Jaime Koval (John), Jason Morton, Janel Hoffmann (Alex), Jacob Dykstra (Alaina), Anthony Snyder, Christofer Snyder, Derek Snyder, Shian Dykstra, Rebekah Dykstra, Hannah Dykstra, Timothy Dykstra II, Tyler Dykstra, Emma Dykstra and Joshua Dykstra; her great grandchildren, Stella, Jett, Isabelle, Elowyn "Winnie", April, Dorian, Elleana, Faith and Hope; her siblings-in-law, Paul Kooyers and Liz Boluyt; and her close friends, Agnes Fish, Marilyn DeMaagd and Mary Bazen. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Heritage Life Story Funeral Homes (1833 Plainfield Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the First Netherlands Reformed Congregation (1261 Beckwith Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of donors choice.
