With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Etta Louise Burkhalter (Grand Rapids, Michigan), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 23, 2026 at the age of 113. She was predeceased by: her mother Sarah Jones. She is survived by: her daughters, Martha Dahlinger of Portage, Michigan, Charlotte Trowbridge of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Mary Peterson of Grand Rapids; and her grandchildren, Deborah Hickey (Perry) of Wautoma, Wisconsin, Jeff Dahlinger (Lisa) of Alpena, Michigan, Dan (Sandra) of Novi, Michigan, Maria Dahlinger of Portage, Michigan, Carrie Smith (Dave) of Lansing, Michigan, Amy Rabideau (Dennis) of Grand Rapids and Ronald Kaul (Daryl) of Prescott, Arizona.. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren.
She would appreciate memorial contributions to Fountain Street Church, Corewell Health's Hospice and Palliative Care, and to Meijer Gardens, one of her favorite places to visit.
