We announce the death of Eva Sayen (Grand Rapids, Michigan), who passed away on July 4, 2026, at the age of 92. Eva will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Eva will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Eva will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Eva’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her husband Edward Earl Sayen Jr.; and her siblings, Marcia and William. She is survived by: her children, Mike Sayen (Pam), Sandi VanEizenga (late Dennis Wolff), Sue Hazen (Bob), Mary DeVries (David), Nancy Sample (late Greg Sample) and David Sayen; and her sister Mary Kay Chilver. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
