He was predeceased by: his son Gary Alflen; his daughter-in-law Stacy Dahl; his great grandchild Riley Rohrhoff; his parents, Albert Alflen and Evelyn Alflen; his son-in-law Mike Dabkowski; his siblings, Roger, Dick Alflen and Patricia Hansen; and his siblings-in-law, Raymond, Eugene Zalewski and Eleanor Thomas.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Alflen (Zalewski); and his children, Sue Roersma (Jerry), Cheryl Dabkowski and Brian Alflen (Kelly). He is also survived by his nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Basilica of St. Adalbert (654 Davis Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Basilica of St. Adalbert or The Riley Katheryn Foundation.
