He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald LaFave and Betty LaFave. He is survived by: his close friend Carmen Pinilla; his children, Mellisa LaFave, Christopher LaFave and Teresa Smith; his grandsons, Austin and Anthony Merz; his brother Tom LaFave; his sister-in-law Kelly Knudson; and his aunt Alice Fodor.
