He was predeceased by : his father Dr. Theodore Minnema; and his mother-in-law Alberta VanElst. He is survived by : his wife Cynthia Minnema; his children, Crystal Gumbs (Gabriel), Shelby Minnema and Dalton H. Minnema; his mother Tena Minnema; his brothers, Tom Minnema (Sondra), Ted Minnema (Courtney) and Rick Minnema (Vivian); and his siblings-in-law, Pamela Rolfe (Claude) and Edward Goldammer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel (2800 Burton St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546).
