He was predeceased by : his parents, John Apol and Dorothy Apol; his parents-in-law, Leopoldo Painaga and Adoracion Painaga; his sister-in-law Judy Apol; and his nephew Ben Rustemeyer.

He is survived by : his wife Ludy; his son Christopher Apol; and his siblings, John Apol, Carol Rustemeyer, Carla Weidenaar, Connie Sztengel (Victor) and Cheryl Kuipers (Ivan). He is also survived by siblings.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Cutlerville East Christian Reformed Church (501 68th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49548).
