He is survived by: his wife Linda Smiertka (Skornia); his children, Jennifer Koestner (Kurtis), Kathryn Miller (Joel), Matthew Smiertka (Rachel), Timothy Smiertka, Jeffrey Smiertka (Rachel) and Joshua Smiertka; and his grandchildren, Austin, Makenna, Natalie, Kaleb, Kinsley, Alaina, Cohen and Olivia.
