She was predeceased by: her son Michael Haan; her parents, Sieger Heys and Nellie Heys; and her sister Joanne Jansma. She is survived by: her husband Nelson "Nels"; her son Mark Haan (Aimee); her grandchildren, Ashley Haan, Jordan (Taylor) and Kendra Haan; her daughter Shelley Mead (Terry); her grandchildren, Collin Mead, Maeve Mead, Jamie (Justin), Cooley, Ava, Lyle and Walter Cooley; her siblings, Barbara Heys and Robert Heys (Elizabeth); and her brothers-in-law, Sidney Jansma (Cate) and Raymond Haan (Kathleen).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Covenant Christian Reformed Church (7171 Willard Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49548). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
