She was predeceased by: her husband Isaac; and her daughter Debra Kaptein. She is survived by: her children, Carol Meyer (Steven), Kathy DeMeester (Dan), Mike VanBemden (Cheryl), Ron Kaptein and Sally Bolt (Paul); and her brother Lorn Rus (Marilyn). She is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Heritage Life Story Funeral Homes (2120 Lake Michigan Dr NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First Netherlands Reformed Congregation (1261 Beckwith Street NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Plymouth Christian School Capital Fund or Faith Hospice.
