He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Duiven and Ruth Duiven; his son Steven; and his pets, Maggie, Jake, Jessie, Penny and Willie.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Duiven; his children, Matthew Duiven (Young Shin) and Sarah Kugler (David); his grandchildren, Jack, Lily Kugler, Noah, Christian and Eva Duiven; and his brother Frank Duiven (Lois). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Service (4291 Cascade Rd SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546). A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Park Congregational Church (10 E Park Pl NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503).
