In loving memory of John Milton Kelbel of Grand Rapids, Michigan, who departed this world on May 16, 2025 at the age of 91. John Milton leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father John Kelbel; his former wife Lynn L. Kelbel (Brophy); his mother Patricia "Pat" Kelbel (Ingold); and his siblings, Patricia Ryan, Beth Kelbel and Ed Kelbel.
He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Kelbel; his children, Dr. John Michael Kelbel (Dianne), Kevin Kelbel Tim (Peggy), Maureen Purcell and Bridget Kalman (Craig); his stepchildren, Kathy Klimowicz, Pat Cashbaugh (Dave), Paula Sheid (Tom), Greg Klimowicz (Kristi) and Phil Klimowicz (Amy); his brother Bill Kelbel (Margaret); and his extended family Shelby Kelbel. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM. A rosary was held on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 at 8:00 PM at the Reyers North Valley Chapel (2815 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Jude Catholic Parish (1120 4 Mile Rd NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church of Grand Rapids or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
