We announce the death of Joyce Kulhawik of Grand Rapids, Michigan, who passed away on August 26, 2026, at the age of 88. Joyce will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Kulhawik and Dorothy Kulhawik; and her close friend Dick Cole. She is survived by: her sister Kay Jaarsma; her children, Kim Hall (Dave), Kurt Vandermeer (Maria), Kelly Bartolatto (Gary), Kris Cunningham (Rick) and Kevin Vandermeer (Brenda); her grandchildren, Kelly Coon (Katelyn), Corey Coon (Dominique), Zach Hall (Sophie Diekevers), Tyler Stob (Helana), Rylee Edens (Brandon), Jake Bartolatto (Kylie Christensen), Allie Stob (Devin Gath), Carter Vandermeer (Ali Butts) and Dylan Vandermeer (Hannah Johnson); her great grandchildren, Emmett, Micah, Mason, Palmer and Luca; and her pet Lily.
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Knights of Columbus (1140 Muskegon Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Humane Society of Michigan or to an animal rescue of your choice in Joyce's memory.
