With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Laurence VanBennekom of Grand Rapids, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 14, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Adrian VanBennekom and Harriett VanBennekom; his wife Sharon [Nolan] VanBennekom; and his siblings, Peggy Bouma, Betty Ann Looman and Jackie VanBennekom.
He is survived by: his children, Larry VanBennekom, Brenda Lubbers (Scott) and Kimberly McCambridge (Bob); his grandchildren, Dustin Styburski, Kyle McCambridge (Juanita), Nicholas Lubbers (Samantha Marvin) and Jason Lubbers; his great grandchildren, Emmalynn, Oliver Lubbers and Vanessa Scribner-Talamantez; his siblings, Patricia Duffield (Jerry) and Roger (Val); his in-laws, Diana DeKorte (Dan), Wayne Forsythe (Linda) and Dale Forsythe (Anita); and his friend Ruth Melendez. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews.
