With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Maria Cassidy Spielmaker of Grand Rapids, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 2, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Maria Cassidy farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Maria Cassidy is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her husbands, Thomas John Cassidy Jr. and Ronald J. Spielmaker; and her parents, Marcus Lovett and Marina Lovett. She is survived by: her children, Maria T. Cassidy, Tom Cassidy (Shelly), Patrick Cassidy (Daidre), Michael Cassidy (Hillary), Colleen Atchison (Jim) and Kelly Cassidy (Tom); and her brothers, Gentry Lovett (Marge) and Marty Lovett (Linda). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the O'Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home (3980 Cascade Rd SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546).
