The passing of Marian D. Baker of Grand Rapids, Michigan leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on May 23, 2025. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Nicholas Smit and Winnie Smit (Boerman); her husbands, Gerrit Grootenhaar and Dale Baker; her son David Grootenhaar; and her grandson Timothy Hoffmann.
She is survived by: her in-laws, Dr. George Smit (Marcia), Harriet Luidens (Robert), Dr. Henry Smit (Betty), Pierson Smit (Betty), Robert Langkamp (Jeane), Jack Grootenhaar and Ed Evenhouse (Fannie); her daughters, Gerri Christian (David), Sally Todd (Robert), Patti Berkey, Barbara Hoffmann (Michael) and Brenda Elliott (Bert); and her sister-in-law Beverly Gootenhaar. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Breton Ridge Vineyard Chapel (2772 Pfeiffer Woods Dr SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49512). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
