She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Jonker and Evelyn Jonker; her brother Jack Jonker; and her son-in-law Kevin Faulk. She is survived by: her husband James Van Ess; her children, James "Toby" Van Ess (Jodi) and Lori Van Ess-Faulk; her siblings, Judy, Gord Hicks, Gary, Sharon Jonker, David and Mary Lynn Jonker; her sister-in-law Mary Jonker; her grandchildren, Kaley Laug (Travis), Kody Faulk (Kara), Cassidy Akubu (Dan) and Christian Van Ess (Savanna); and her great grandchildren, Piper, Mack, Zane and James. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
