She was predeceased by: her husband Rev. Sy Voortman; her sons-in-law, Larry Johnson and John Van Howe; her granddaughter Kristen Eberlein; her parents, John Bykerk and Anna Bykerk; her stepfather Nick Leep; her siblings, Arie (Fran Bykerk), Neil (Loie Bykerk), Gerald (Peg Bykerk), Adriana (Bill Kamstra), Win (Al Veltkamp) and Clare Van Dyke; and her siblings-in-law, Dorothy, Clarence Eisenga, Grada, Clarence Rietema, CoraMae, Newton Eisenga, Evelyn, Auke Douma and John Voortman.
She is survived by: her sisters, Mary Van Dyke and Gert Wolfert; her sister-in-law Liz Voortman; and her daughters, Suzanne Green (Mike), Sarah Johnson, Sally Tuinstra (Steve) and Shirlene Eberlein (Dave). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren: 29 great-grandchildren and one great, great grandchild: along with many nephews, nieces and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Bethel United Reformed Church (8360 Cottonwood Dr, Jenison, MI 49428). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
