With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Jo Wood (Grand Rapids, Michigan), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 4, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Cornelius Oonk and Leona Oonk of Holland, Michigan.; her husband James C. Wood; and her brother Dan Oonk. She is survived by: her sister Pat Doolitte; her sister-in-law Beth Oonk; her son Thomas VandeWater (Wendy); and her grandchildren, Leslie Cowlishaw, Jim Wood (Linda), Tom Wood (Lynn), Mary Schumaker (Duane), Ben VandeWater (Natalie), Sam VandeWater (Saige), Max VandeWater (Meghan), Matt Severance (Stephanie), Elisha White (Jeff), Sarah Gregory (Justin), Alex Wood, Katie Wood, Taylor Wood and Connor Wood. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
