It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin Frederick Zehnder of Grand Rapids, Michigan, born in Birch Run, Michigan, who passed away on March 8, 2026, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Terre Pfleghaar Zehnder; his parents, Harold Zehnder and Erna Zehnder; his siblings, Wallace Zehnder, Raymond Zehnder (Marilyn), Donald Zehnder, Lorraine Zehnder, Elaine Maurer (Arnold) and Carl Schneirla; his grandson Brent Rittenhouse; and his pet Bailey.
He is survived by: his children, Andrew Zehnder, Mary Armstrong (Daniel), Sarah Zehnder and Rachel Domanowski (Matthew); his grandchildren, Asher, Aria Armstrong and Brylie Murcko (Ashley); his siblings, James Zehnder (Sherrill) and Marian Schneirla; and his sister-in-law Doris Zehnder. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
