She was predeceased by: her former husband Elmer Gietzen (Al); her son Gregory John Gietzen; her parents, John Korte and Vivian Korte; and her sisters, Rita Trudeau, Dorothy Michaels and Madonna Monley.
She is survived by: her children, Jeffrey Gietzen (Kathy) and Heidi (Dan Hutchins); her grandchildren, Christopher Gietzen, Meghan Gietzen, Brandon Kinney (D'Lisa Groeneweg), Sarah Kinney, Joshua Garland (Gina Riley), Ashleigh Price (Aaron), Kelly Rupp (Ben), Kristen Hutchins, Ryan Aldous-Hutchins (Susan) and Nicholas Hutchins (Nadia); and her husband Al Gietzen. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church (2750 Burton St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 14th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
