He was predeceased by : his sister Joyce Clark. He is survived by : his wife Patricia Westveer; his sister Harriet Smith; his children, Karrie Guarnaccia (John), Kathryn Helferich, Kimberly Helferich and Omar Kirk Helferich (Jeannine); his stepchildren, Lorna Vander Sluis (Paul), Michael Kuyers (Bobbi) and Gina Kuyers (David); his grandchildren, Angela, Andrew (Megan), Anthony (Andrea), Alyssa (Chris), Aaron (Catie), Autumn, Chelsea, Chad, Naomi, Ellie and Kayla; and his stepgrandchildren, Grace (Asa), Jack (Jenny), Madeline, Calvin (Tantzi), Michal (Matthew), Margot, Elliot, Peter, Gwyneth, Juliana, Alyssa and Danielle.

In lieu of flowers, Omar has requested that contributions be made to the Kentwood Rotary Club or the Neland Church of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

“I was just talking about my time racing sailboats on Lake MI with some people at church this past Sunday and thought about Keith. I am so sorry for your loss. Keith was a great guy and wonderful Dialog Systems' boss. The "crew" and I had a lot of fun racing to the west coast of Michigan to get ready for day races and on the overnight races across lake Michigan.
