He was predeceased by: his grandson Tonylee Massey III; his great grandchild Axton Taylor; and his parents, Bud Burg and Betty Ver Burg. He is survived by: his wife Marcia; his children, Mike Leaf (Paula DiCesare), Mark Leaf (Laurie), Tami Humphrey-Baldacci, Jeannie Humphrey-Anderson, Suzanne "Susie" Humphrey and Patricia Humphrey-House (Mike House); and his siblings, Pamela Ver Burg, Denise Armstrong (Robert) and Rick Ver Burg. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
