It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Philip VanHeest (Grand Rapids, Michigan), who passed away on April 27, 2026, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Sr. VanHeest and Edith VanHeest (Hanenburg); his wife Phyllis A. VanHeest (Helder); and his siblings, Archie, Leonard, John, Andrew VanHeest and Josephne Zuyddyk.
He is survived by: his son Andrew; his brothers, Archibald and Len; his family Phil; his grandchildren, Brandt, Jared and Caleb; his son Todd VanHeest (Harriet); his grandson Lucas; his children, Brandt, Jared, Caleb VanHeest (Leeza) and Heather Schutt (David); his grandchildren, Justin and Mackenzie Schutt; his sister Marguerite Ballast; and his sister-in-law Jeanne Doornbos (Milton). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
