She was predeceased by : her husband Ronald Schaaf; her grandson Nicholas Miesen; her parents, Simon VanDyk and Betty VanDyk; her son-in-law Rick Currier; and her siblings, Fred VanDyk and Elaine Schaaf.

She is survived by : her children, Amy Currier, Tari Zahm (Rick), Donald Schaaf, Chad Schaaf and Karla Miesen; her son-in-law Donald Miesen; her siblings, Louise Kerkstra (Ralph) and Glen VanDyk (Barb); and her siblings-in-law, Betty VanDyk and Ken Schaaf. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
