He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothea Thurston and Ralph Thurston Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Mary Anne; his children, Daniel Thurston and Elizabeth Ostrowski (Chris); his grandchildren, Samantha and Nathan Ostrowski; his sisters, Elaine Kennelly, Priscilla "Pat" Barletta and Doris Sears; and his in-laws, Barbara Andersen (Phil), Richard Ambrosiewicz (Gloria), Joan Kupris (Mike) and Jean VanAllsburg (Bill). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
