He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Flanders and Laura Flanders (Andrews); and his wife Charlene. He is survived by: his children, Lynda Podein (Steve), Charles Flanders (Tracy) and Laura LaMore (Dan); and his grandchildren, Sara Nowicki (Philip), Kristen Podein, Becca Tape (Darin), Timothy Flanders (Whitney), Kate Mills (Chris), Matt LaMore (Jennifer) and Emma Tolsma (Brandon). He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren; and other extended family.

Memorial donations may be made in Ray's memory to the American Legion Boat and Canoe Club, Valley City Post #356.
