He is survived by: his wife Darlene Hansen; his daughters, Nicole Hansen (Nate Moser) and Heather Douma (Dan); his grandchildren, Andrea and Wesley; his stepgranddaughter Jasmine; his great grandchildren, Cyrus and Elizabeth; his brothers, Jon Hansen (Cathie) and Jay Nelson (Michelle); his stepmother Betty Jane White; and his son Alex Scott (Mara Basso).

A memorial service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Plainfield Baptist Church (1750 Woodworth St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525).

In lieu of flowers, gift certificates to hardware stores to help Darlene with ongoing home repairs would be helpful.
