He was predeceased by: his father James DeJonge; and his stepson Robert Spedoske. He is survived by: his wife Barbara DeJonge; his mother Sandra Brugel (Ron); his sister Renee DeJonge (Tab); his stepchildren, Jason Spedoske (Sheryl), Mark Spedoske (Jennifer), Amber Hawkins (Benjamin Sharp) and Ryan Spedoske (Lindsey); his close friend Chris Ambrose; and his caregivers, Amy H, Charlotte A, Melinda M, Kelly B, Elise P and Aide Candace G.. He is also survived by aunt's uncles and cousins, and many step grandchildren.
