He is survived by: his wife Linda Erickson-Joel; his stepson Ryan Erickson; his daughters-in-law, Gina Erickson and Aimee Richard; his granddaughter Elly Joel; his sister Carole Hazel; his nephew Daniel Hazel; his niece Natalie Cheney; Caron Joel-Dallow, Jayne Seymour, Amy Oesterreich, Sue Harris and Dee Seymour.

It was Richard's wish that donations be made to your local humane society or animal shelter.
