With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rita Coleen Shaheen of Grand Rapids, Michigan, born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 4, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her siblings, Mike, Ron, Jerry and Laurie; and her parents, LaVerne Flynn and Deloris Flynn.
She is survived by: her husband Dan; her children, Michael Shaheen (Emily), Kelly Shaheen (Elise) and Kaley Burgler (Eric); her granddaughter Sage Shaheen; her sisters, Jeanie Marso (Garland) and Patty Stapleton (Bob); Kelly Flynn (Barb). She is also survived by many family members, friends, students, caregivers, and coworkers, but mostly by her husband and children.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clark Retirement Home Franklin memory care unit and/or Emmanuel Hospice.
