It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert John Maring (Grand Rapids, Michigan), born in Muskegon, Michigan, who passed away on November 30, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Maring and Susan Maring; his wife Marilyn; and his grandson Cameron Hooyer. He is survived by: his children, Hal Maring (Joyce), Tami DeJong (Ed) and Carla Hooyer (Mark); his grandchildren, Jamin DeJong (Amy), Luke Maring (Colleen), Marita Damghani (Kevin), Miriam Maring Kottu (Lal), Andra Slabach (Joel), Benham DeJong (Renee) and Kira Hooyer; his sister Lois Bishop; and his brother-in-law Russ Sholten (Sue). He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, many nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory can be given to Holland Home Residence Assistance Fund.
